About This Policy
Effective July 2026. This policy explains what information Youth Maker Space LLC ("YMS," "we," "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Our studio is located at 522 W Katella Avenue, Orange, CA 92867.
Information We Collect
When you register your Inventor for a session, we collect information from you as the parent or guardian: your name, email address, phone number, and billing details, plus information about your Inventor such as their name, age, emergency contact, and anything you choose to share with us to keep them safe and successful in the studio (such as allergies or special needs).
On our website, we collect the information you submit through our contact and newsletter forms, and standard analytics data about site visits (such as pages viewed and general location) through our website platform.
How We Use Your Information
We use this information to run our programs: scheduling sessions, processing payments, communicating about classes, and keeping Inventors safe. If you join our newsletter or register with us, we may also send occasional emails about programs, events, and offers — every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and opting out never affects your Inventor's participation. We do not sell your personal information, ever.
Children's Privacy
Our programs serve young people ages 10–17. We collect information about Inventors from their parents or guardians — not from children directly through our website. Registration and payment accounts are created and managed by adults. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us directly, contact us and we will delete it.
Photos and Videos
We love showing off what Inventors build. We only use photos or videos of identifiable Inventors on our website or social media with parental consent, which we request as part of registration. You can decline or withdraw consent at any time, and we will remove the image — just contact us.
Payments and Third-Party Services
We use Sawyer, a registration and payment platform built for children's activity businesses, to manage sign-ups, customer accounts, and payments. When you register, your information is processed and stored by Sawyer under its own privacy policy (available at hisawyer.com).
Our website is hosted on Wix. As our hosting platform, Wix automatically collects certain data from site visitors — such as IP addresses, device and browser information, and usage data — and stores the information you submit through our site on its servers. This collection happens under Wix's own privacy policy (available at wix.com/about/privacy), and some of it occurs independently of us. Wix also provides our site analytics and newsletter tools.
We link to social media platforms (such as Facebook and Instagram); those platforms have their own privacy practices.
Cookies and Analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for basic site functionality and visit analytics. Some of these cookies are placed by Wix, our website platform, and are necessary for the site to work. You can control cookies through your browser settings. If we add advertising-related tools in the future, we will update this policy.
Studio Security
For the safety of Inventors and staff, our studio premises are monitored by security cameras. Recordings are used only for safety and security purposes and are not published.
Data Retention and Security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above — active customer records while you're with us, and business records as required by law (for example, payment records for tax purposes). We rely on established platforms (Sawyer, Wix) with industry-standard security to store your data, and we limit access to people who need it to run YMS.
Your Choices and Rights
You can ask us at any time to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you or your Inventor, to unsubscribe from marketing emails, or to withdraw photo consent. California residents may have additional rights under state privacy law. To make any request, just contact us — we'll respond promptly.
Changes to This Policy
If we make meaningful changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
